gas rc car wont comminuciate with controller?

I bought a gas r/c car on ebay and i couldnt get the car to comminuicate with the controller, come to find out, the crystals were diffrent frequiencies (one was 27.6 MhZ and the other was 26.MhZ) i bought new ones that match (27.19 mHz) and i put the tx one in the controller and the rx one in the car but the car is still not communicating with the controller(also tried switching them). their is no brand name on it and i dont know what to do to get it working. any help? also, on the car the block that the crystals go into says "R-3820 am 2 channel reciver. i have brand new batteries in both car and controller and both are switched on. it looks exactly like the pics below.
